Wheeler Yuta Wants To Go After AEW World Tag Titles With Death Riders

When it comes to winning championships, Wheeler Yuta has had his fair share of success in recent years as a three-time ROH Pure Champion and a solitary reign with the AEW World Trios Championships. However, Yuta has his sights set on another set of titles, and he wants to win them with a fellow Death Rider by his side.

During a recent interview with "The Wrestling Classic," Yuta was asked about him and Daniel Garcia challenging for the AEW World Tag Team Championships earlier this year and if that is something he and Garcia are still thinking about. Yuta explained that he has so much chemistry with Garcia that they would be foolish to not at least try and win some tag team gold. "I think we were a little curious to see how it would go and it gelled instantly. Like being in a team with him has been so much fun, we have such similar styles, such similar outlooks on wrestling. I would love to go after the tag titles, I'd love to just keep teaming with him you know? He's my friend and it's been an absolute blast and I think we really gel well together."

The AEW World Tag Team Championships are currently held by The Young Bucks, who kickstarted their fourth reign as champions at AEW All Out 2026. They will defend their crowns at the upcoming AEW WrestleDream 2026 pay-per-view against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight of the Don Callis Family, who earned their shot by defeating Darby Allin and Steven Borden at the same event. Neither Yuta or Garcia have ever held tag team gold in AEW, nor has any member of the Death Riders at the time of writing, but as time goes on, they will want that to change.
