Backstage News On Response To WWE Raw Promo Segment Between LA Knight & Roman Reigns

On this week's episode of "WWE Raw", LA Knight and Roman Reigns finally stood face-to-face after Knight attacked Reigns from behind after the show in Mexico City. After the attack, Reigns immediately agreed to a match at Money in the Bank. However, this was their first time in a ring since then. Knight called Reigns a "manufactured corporate puppet, industry plant" after Reigns told him he was "just another egg in the omelet" that he'll break on Saturday night.

The segment was reportedly very well received backstage. WrestleVotes on Fightful Select said the segment received "considerable acclaim" from people in production and backstage. In particular, Reigns' emotional range created a good impression. He is usually seen as more emotionally reserved. WrestleVotes was told that there was enough of a strong reaction to Reigns "that there were genuine discussions about how effective that version of Reigns could be moving forward in the appropriate setting."

Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Knight this Saturday. He will star as Akuma in the new "Street Fighter" movie. The movie will be in theaters on October 16. It also stars Cody Rhodes as Guile.
