Nic & Ryan Nemeth Hang Onto World Tag Title With TNA Impact Win Over Hardys
The Nemeths retained the TNA World Tag Team Championship over the Hardys in the main event of "TNA Impact."
Leon Slater was on commentary for the bout ahead of his World title challenge this weekend at Bound for Glory. The Hardys were challenging the Nemeths in a rematch of Lockdown in August, where the TNA World Champion and his brother dethroned the five-time World Tag Team Champions in a Steel Cage match. And the match started with the challengers out to make a point, putting both Nic and Ryan to the sword in the opening stages.
They came close to winning the titles soon after, Jeff Hardy splashing the World Champion and making a cover that was only broken by Ryan. Ryan then dropped Hardy, allowing his brother to seemingly finish off with Danger Zone. But Hardy kicked out.
Matt Hardy returned to the fold to save his brother with two Twist of Fates, followed then by Jeff going to the top rope for the Swanton Bomb. The lights started to flicker and distorted sound played, the Syx distracting Jeff momentarily before he went for the move. That allowed Nic to get his knees up and roll up Jeff for the winning pinfall.
After the match the lights went out again, coming back up to reveal that someone had attacked Slater and Nic Nemeth looking guilty before taking his leave. Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw had emerged in the ring and beat down the Hardys as the show drew to a close.
