Adam Copeland defeated Josh Alexander on "AEW Dynamite" to qualify for the Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream on Saturday, and following the match on Wednesday, he had some major news, as well as an update on his tag team partner, for fans. The qualifier was Copeland's first AEW bout since the three-way ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at All Out.

During that match, Copeland revealed that Christian Cage suffered a collapsed lung, as well as multiple broken ribs, after being thrown into a ladder just five minutes into the bout. Copeland said Cage finished the match due to his work ethic, and he did it all for the fans. He said because that happened to his best friend, he realized he needed to sit down and do some soul-searching.

Copeland revealed that 2027 will be his final year competing in the ring, and he wants to go for the AEW World Championship. The soon-to-be 53-year-old said that he realized he's no longer the guy on posters on teenager's walls, and he's okay aging out.

The speech then brought out Don Callis, who said he was sorry to interrupt Copeland "pity party," but it was going to be a good "Dynamite" for the Don Callis Family. He said that he didn't like Copeland's chances of seeing 2027, and Copeland might not even see Clockwork Carnage on Saturday. That's when other members of the DCF, including Kevin Knight and Lance Archer, took Copeland out from behind.
