Kazuchika Okada Retains AEW International Title In Clockwork Carnage Qualifier
Kazuchika Okada is not only still AEW International Champion, he also qualified for the Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream on Saturday with a victory over Myron Reed on "AEW Dynamite" on Wednesday.
After a back-and-forth beginning to the match, Reed attempted a backslide, but Okada slipped out of it. Reed hit an enziguri to Okada and knocked him out of the ring, but "The Rainmaker" was back inside quickly, where he avoided a boot from the challenger. Okada sent Reed face-first into the mat to gain control of the match.
Okada went to the top rope, but saw Reed get his knees up and avoided disaster. Reed then went to the top to look for a 450 splash, but Okada rolled out of the ring. Reed took him down on the outside with a big dive. Okada rolled out of the way of another 450 attempt and hit a dropkick. Reed dodged the Rainmaker, and Okada dodged a cutter and hit Reed with a piledriver, but Reed rolled out of the ring, where he hit a back body drop to Okada, sending him to the floor.
Reed hit a 450 from the steps to Okada on the outside, then attempted another in the ring. Okada rolled out of the way once again and hit the Rainmaker for the victory.
