TNA Impact 10/15/2026: 3 Things We Hated & 3 Things We Loved

Coming off the heels of TNA Bound for Glory, tonight's episode of "TNA Impact" was booked by Matt and Jeff Hardy. So did it live up to the hype? In some ways, yes, but in others, it fell short. Thankfully, we have just the column to deal with such a show, with three matches/segments we loved and three that we hated.

From the opening promo in which the Hardy brothers laid out their plan for the episode, all the way through the ladder match main event, you'll find we have plenty of opinions on tonight's happenings. If that's not enough for you, feel free to check out our "TNA Impact" results page, then come back to find out our takes on all of it. Without any further ado, here are our thoughts.

Hated: Pointless 20-minute opening promo

"We're selfless bookers, we're not booking any title matches."

Now I can't lie: I found this line from Matt Hardy in the middle of the opening segment of tonight's show to be something of a bit of irony considering that the opening segment from this edition of "TNA Impact" was a pointless 20-minute segment that had The Hardys right at the center of the entire thing. I wouldn't have minded this as much if this was being used as a means of setting up a future storyline for The Hardys, and didn't really accomplish much of anything at all. It was boring to watch, incredibly long, and really dragged on.

While I understand that TNA likely wanted to bring the past and the present together into one segment, I don't think that's enough of a justification for this to have been as long as it was. There was already more than enough of Matt and Jeff's presence throughout this show, and this was wasted television time that felt like it could've been dedicated to something else that would've benefitted from it far more instead.

Loved: Brother vs. brother

The Hardy Boyz were granted full creative control of "Impact" tonight, and there were definitely some misses. There were some hits, too — one of them being Ryan Nemeth vs. Nic Nemeth.

Naturally, one might assume that the Nemeth brothers might try to weasel their way out of facing each other by intentionally lying down for a cover. They did exactly that, with Ryan delivering a light kick (emphasis on light) and Nic collapsing to the mat. Before Ryan could capture a pinfall on his older brother, though, Matt and Jeff Hardy stormed out to remind them that if they didn't truly wrestle each other, they'd be stripped of the TNA World Tag Team Championships.

What followed was a fun three-minute scene.

Ryan tried to surprise Nic with a quick roll-up. Nic returned the favor as the crowd and The Hardys loudly encouraged them to fight. The Nemeths then traded pokes and shoves until Nic blasted Ryan with a superkick. The former TNA World Champion reluctantly followed with a Famouser to secure a pinfall on his younger brother.

As is tradition with the Nemeths (in storyline), we're sure that their mother will be getting a call about what they perceived to be a great injustice. For us here at WINC, though, it served as a moment of levity, especially when stacked up against much more hardcore stipulations such as the Tables and Ladder matches that followed later in the night. We wouldn't mind a rematch at some point in the future, either.

Hated: Indi Hartwell's title reign begins with a loss

Indi Hartwell didn't get pinned or submitted tonight. She still left "Impact" with a loss, however, and we're not thrilled with it.

Coming off of her TNA Knockouts World Championship win at Bound For Glory, we expected Hartwell's momentum to keep rolling, at least for a little bit. Bound For Glory is TNA's biggest show of the year, and now as Knockouts World Champion, Hartwell is the face of the Knockouts division, after all. Before she could even settle into her throne, though, Hartwell found herself on the losing end of a six-woman tag team match.

This bout pitted Hartwell, Gabby Forza, and Harley Hudson against Xia Brookside and Knockouts Tag Team Champions Zoey Serrano and Shayna Baszler. Serrano wiped out Hartwell and Forza with crossbody to the outside, leaving Hudson alone in the ring to be locked in a choke hold by Baszler. Hartwell then tried to get back in the squared circle to break things up, only to be physically held back by Brookside. Hudson faded to the submission as a result.

A loss in the record book isn't the best way to kick off one's world title reign. In our opinion, a traditional tag team match pitting Forza-Hudson against Serrano-Baszler, with Hartwell and Brookside potentially running interference, would have worked better as it would've protected Hartwell while also maintaining the tension between her and the now-former KO champion.

Loved: Tag team tables match

Tonight's show was a nice little break from TNA's usual programming. It felt like the first hour flew past. One of the matches within that hour was the tag team tables match between The Righteous and Syx. Because they showcased a little Hardy style combat, I had to love this match this week!

I have to give TNA its props; the rules for its tag team tables matches are unique and very different from what you see from other commercialized promotions. To win, both members of the same team must be thrown through a table, or speared, or what have you. The two teams featured tonight were the perfect opponents for it. It was put together very well, very crafty. I think this match will open a very fun Pandora's box on what could escalate further between the Righteous and Syx in the future. Both teams are kooky and turbulent, which makes for great television.

Yet, my only complaint was that this match was too short on its timing. If I remember correctly, there was a commercial break (which felt so long), causing a lot of what we could've seen lost in the shuffle. Sure, if you were there live, you saw the entirety of it. But for fans like myself at home, I felt like I missed several great moments.

Why do I have a feeling there's going to be a GIF or meme made of Vincent when he didn't go through the table the first time?

Hated: What a dumb way to celebrate

So this week's entire premise for the show was the Hardys get to book it how they see fit to celebrate their 35 year milestone in the business. To be clear, that is a huge milestone that absolutely should be celebrated. It's just a shame it had to happen in the worst version of TNA for some years.

At the top of the show, the Hardys were joined in the ring by X-Division Champion Amazing Red and World Champion Leon Slater. Jeff Hardy said that one match he has wanted to have for quite some time is a one on one match with Slater, and he couldn't think of a better way to do it than challenging for the World title. But then Matt Hardy scratched the hell out of that record and said that the Hardys were not looking to book matches for themselves like egomaniacs.

A shame, but a noble shame. Except, as it would turn out, they were there to book themselves in a match. Specifically, a tag match against AJ Francis and Expressions. Francis is a somewhat limited wrestler on his own, then you add the aging Hardys who are shells of themselves, and Expressions, who is just not a wrestler. As one can probably surmise, the match was awful and defined by its finish. And that's not because the finish was cool or anything, it just signaled the end of the match and that was the best part.

It's sad that the Hardys, legends that they are, celebrated 35 years in the business with a tag match against Francis and Expressions. There was no legendary dream match, just a really boring match that had no right even being a thing.

If you were told when the Hardys were atop the world of tag team wrestling that they would be in this position, what would you say?

Loved: The Hardy's Impact concludes with an extreme success

As promised during their opening promo, Matt and Jeff Hardy booked several extreme stipulations on their very own episode of "Impact," and I'd argue the main event was the most successful.

One of the better aspects of the match was getting to see Ricky Sosa and Jason Hotch mix it up with some of the more well-established members of the roster. Both got a good amount of spotlight, and though neither man came away with the win, that kind of experience is invaluable and will help their images in the long run to be positioned in such a match.

When Nemeth ran out and interrupted Elijah towards the end of the match, it really did seem like Nemeth was going to pull down the contract to earn a rematch against Leon Slater. Instead, all it did was buy enough time for Trey Miguel to get the job done.

Miguel will almost certainly put on a strong showing when he faces Leon Slater at Destination X next month. As pointed out on commentary, the former Rascal (minus the Z) has put in plenty of time in TNA with just one world title challenge to his name. He was clearly emotional at the match's end, and it's safe to say he's going to give it his all when the time comes.
