AEW WrestleDream Results 10/17/26 W/ Live Updates
Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s live coverage for AEW WrestleDream on October 17, 2026, coming to you live from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida at a special main show start time of 8 PM ET!
Will Ospreay will be defending his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe, "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Adam Copeland, Konosuke Takeshita, AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet, and TNT Champion Darby Allin in a Clockwork Carnage Match. Starting with two wrestlers inside the ring to kick off the first stage of the match, six other wrestlers will enter into the match at three minute intervals to make for a total of eight competitors. Until all eight wrestlers have at least gotten into the ring, anyone who is pinned or taps out via submission will be eliminated. The remaining competitors will advance to stage two, where a 15 minute clock will begin. Wrestlers aim to earn as many points as they can within that window to earn points by pinning or making their opponents tap out via submission, and whoever has the most points in the 15 minutes will walk out of WrestleDream as AEW World Champion to win the contest.
Coming off her successful defense against Queen Aminata at "AEW Dynamite" Grand Slam France on October 6, Mercedes Mone will be putting her AEW Women's World Championship on the line as she defends against former titleholder Thekla. Thekla defeated Willow Nightingale in a Number One Contenders Match for the AEW Women's World Championship at All Out on September 26 to secure her title shot against Mone tonight.
"Hangman" Adam Page, Brody King, and Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido were unsuccessful in challenging Swerve Strickland and New Level's Kofi and Austin Creed for the AEW World Trios Championship at All Out last month. Page, King, and Bandido will have another shot to win back the AEW World Trios Championship when they challenge Strickland and New Level once again tonight, but this time, it will be in a 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match.
Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks will be putting their AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line as they defend against The Don Callis Family's Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. The Young Bucks previously dethroned Christian Cage and Adam Copeland as AEW World Tag Team Champions at AEW All Out on September 26 in a Three-Way Match that also involved FTR's Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.
Persephone will be putting her TBS Championship on the line as she defends against Hyan, Queen Aminata, and Dani Luna in a Four-Way Match. After Hyan and Dani Luna defeated Persephone and her ally Britt Baker on this past Wednesday's "Dynamite" and "Collision" double feature television special, Persephone and Baker beat down Hyan and Luna until Aminata ran out to the ring to come to their aid.
Jon Moxley of The Death Riders will be putting the Continental Championship on the line as he defends against The Don Callis Family's Mark Davis. Moxley has had successful defenses against the likes of Nigel McGuinness and Orange Cassidy at AEW All In on August 30 and the September 30 episode of "Dynamite" dedicated to the late PAC respectively.
Andrade El Idolo will be putting his National Championship up for grabs as he defends against Tommaso Ciampa in Ciampa's continuing quest to capture his second piece of gold in AEW. Not only will this mark Andrade's first defense since retaining against Michael Oku on the "Collision" Grand Slam: France special last Saturday, but Samoa Joe made Andrade fade to the Coquina Clutch during this past Wednesday's "Dynamite" and "Collision" special to earn himself and Ciampa the win against Andrade and the aforementioned Ospreay.
Jericho may have emerged victorious against Nick Wayne on the September 16 episode of "Dynamite", but Wayne sought his retribution when he scored a win of his own against Jericho at the "Collision" Grand Slam: France television special on October 10. The two men look to settle their score as they will be squaring off against one another tonight, but should Jericho lose, then he will have to issue an apology to Wayne for not taking him seriously.
Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley of The Motor City Machine Guns will be in action as they go head-to-head with FTR's Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler in the first match of a Best of Five Series at "AEW Saturday Tailgate Brawl" beginning at 7 PM ET. FTR demanded another shot at The Young Bucks' AEW World Tag Team Championship during this past Wednesday's "Dynamite" and "Collision" special, but The Motor City Machine Guns confronted the pair. Alex Shelley pondered the idea of The Motor City Machine Guns being able to defeat FTR three out of five times (with FTR having previously defeated The Young Bucks three out of five times) and proposed the Best of Five series.
Additionally, Sisters of Sin's Skye Blue and Julia Hart will also be going head-to-head with Megan Bayne and Lena Kross of Divine Dominion at "Saturday Tailgate Brawl".
