Hangman Page & Brodido Win 2/3 Falls Match At AEW WrestleDream, Capture Trios Titles
"Hangman" Adam Page and Brodido beat Swerve Strickland and the New Level to reclaim the World Trios Championship at AEW WrestleDream.
Page didn't need much encouragement but he wound up brawling with Strickland almost as soon as he tagged in, having been tripped by Strickland from outside of the ring. The brawl saw members of both teams trying to break things up, though Brody King joined in on attacking Strickland until he was separated with Page serving as the rare voice of reason.
The champions went on to score the first fall as Kofi and Austin Creed hit the Midnight Hour to Bandido to get the three-count. They sought to press for a quick victory, Strickland hitting Swerve Stomp and making the cover before Page broke it up to set off their next brawl.
Bandido scored the equalizing fall after a spell that saw King cannonball the Creed and Kofi in the corner at the same time, followed then by a Buckshot from Page to Strickland, and King monkey flipping Bandido into a senton for the pin on Creed.
Bandido managed to get the winning pinfall after surviving an onslaught from all three of his opponents, delivering an avalanche flipping bodyslam to both Creed and Kofi, and then reversing a JML Driver into a roll-up.
After the match, Strickland refused to hand his title belt over to Page, while also calling for the New Level to keep theirs from King and Bandido. They ignored him and handed the titles over, and Strickland dropped it in front of Page before walking off.
Strickland and New Level beat Page and Brodido for the Trios titles back at All In in August, coming out last in the Trios Roulette Royal to win gold on their first night together. They retained the titles over the former champions at All Out before their Two Out of Three Falls rubber match was set.
