CMLL has announced that AEW's Marina Shafir will serve as Shotzi Blackheart's replacement in the upcoming Amazonas Grand Prix tournament.

CMLL's Amazonas Grand Prix is a showcase of women from around the globe, with performers representing various promotions from around the world. Along with CMLL's own representatives this year, AEW, STARDOM, Maple Leaf Pro, MLW, and RevPro will also be represented. The tournament will take place on October 23 in Arena Mexico.

Previously, the two representatives for MLW were Blackheart and Masha Slamovich. Unfortunately, Blackheart had to withdraw from the tournament following the death of her brother. Blackheart said that the opportunity to compete in the tournament was a huge honor and she doesn't take it lightly.

With her inclusion in the tournament, Shafir will represent her home country of Moldova. CMLL's post translates to "the imposing AEW star, recognized for her experience in mixed martial arts and her aggressive fighting style, arrives to bolster the international contingent."

The match will mark Shafir's debut in CMLL. The other members of Death Riders have either competed in CMLL or at CMLL's joint shows with NJPW, AEW, or RevPro. She will join fellow AEW representatives Megan Bayne, Queen Aminata, and Harley Cameron.

The remaining participants are Thunder Rosa, Tessa Blanchard, La Jarochita, Alice Crowley, AZM, Skadi, Persephone, Miyu Amasaki, Keyra, Rain, Emersyn Jane, Olympia, India Sioux, Mei Siera, Momo Watanabe, and Zeuxis.
