Avery Styles Reportedly Injured During Latest TNA Taping
Avery Styles, son of WWE Hall of Famer and TNA legend AJ Styles, has made a splash since signing with the company at Lockdown in August. He has teamed up with Frankie Kazarian and even wrestled in the 20-man Call Your Shot gauntlet match at Bound For Glory, the promotion's biggest event of the year. The young star may have a bit of his momentum halted, however, according to a new report.
According to Fightful Select on Friday, a few stars were "banged up" following TNA's recent tapings in Dothan, Alabama. The outlet reported that included Styles, who was seen in a walking boot. In the days following Fightful's report, no further update has been given on Styles.
Styles defeated Joe Alonzo on October 13, in a match that has yet to air on "TNA iMPACT." It will be his first televised singles match with the promotion. He previously wrestled in a dark match in August, a loss to Brian Myers, following the announcement he had signed with the company.
The younger Styles signed with TNA with just six matches under his belt, including bouts with GCW. He entered the Call Your Shot gauntlet second and kicked off the match alongside Trey Miguel. He eliminated Mr. Elegance, and was taken out of the match when AJ Francis knocked him out of the air, to the floor, during an attempted springboard. Following Kazarian's gauntlet win, he revealed that he'd be calling his shot for the TNA World Tag Team Championships, with Styles as his partner.
