Today, WWE considers Cody Rhodes to be one of the biggest talents they have on the roster, and he often represents the promotion on the public stage. Regardless of where he's at on the roster today, Rhodes never misses an opportunity to thank the veterans who got him there, and he had a lot to say about Rey Mysterio, who put him over at WrestleMania 27 and gave him legitimacy on the main roster.

"It's such a significant moment, and it meant a lot to me," he said during an interview on "Rowdy Ryder Reviews," recently. "WrestleMania [27] changed my life, and Rey making the decision really to have me at WrestleMania with him, changed my life."

The conversation was originally brought up when Rhodes reviewed his WWE Figures that the podcast host, Rowdy Ryder, had of him. Seeing his 'Undashing' figure also reminded him of the space he was in his career at the time.

"During this period of time, I'd go to SmackDown, and on SmackDown they really let me do whatever I wanted to do in terms of growth and development," he recalled, crediting Michael P. Hayes for the freedom they had on "SmackDown" at that point. "This was a period where the pressure was less, I suppose, than being on Raw at the time, who knows? Our card was filled enough that I could play a little bit – a very special time in my life."

In a past interview with James Sweetnam, Rhodes dove in deeper about his reverence for Mysterio, crediting his career to the legendary Luchador. Rhodes also pointed out how his 'Undashing' character was a direct result of his nose actually being broken by Mysterio, forcing him to legitimately wear a mask to help keep his nose safe while he competed in matches.
