Kevin Owens Outlasts CM Punk, Wins Wild No Holds Barred Match To Close WWE SmackDown
Kevin Owens defeated CM Punk in the No Holds Barred main event of "WWE SmackDown."
Owens went into the bout 0-1 against Punk after their WWE Championship match in August, and started it accordingly. The action soon went into the crowd with Owens beating Punk against the stairs and standing all over him, specifically targeting the neck and back.
Eventually the fight returned to the ringside area, each competitor exchanging the advantage before fighting onto the entrance ramp. Punk drove Owens into the LED board of the stage, delivering a GTS and rolling him on a trolley back down to the ring.
Punk landed an elbow drop off the barricade to put Owens through the announcer's desk, going back into the ring to wrap a steel chain around his knee for a loaded GTS. He didn't get that off but did manage to press Owens onto a set of seated steel chairs, only to shortly after find himself sent from the apron through tables on the outside.
Owens delivered a Stunner back inside the ring though it did not get the win. He resolved to wrap the steel chain around his fist and punch Punk with it. Punk saw it coming, got him up on his shoulders and delivered a GTS. But Owens bounced off the ropes and came back with a chained haymaker, collapsing onto Punk for the winning cover.
