As reported on Thursday night, it was announced in an article on WWE.com that Chris Jericho had signed a contract extension with the company. This article came after numerous reports made the rounds on the internet this week that Jericho may choose not to renew his deal with WWE.
It should be noted that the new deal Jericho signed with WWE this past Monday in Cleveland was only a short-term extension and nothing more. What makes things interesting is that the article appearing on WWE’s website does not detail whether Jericho’s short contract extension expires at the end of this summer and doesn’t deny that he will be taking a leave of absence from WWE afterwards. As reported earlier, Jericho does intend on taking some time off from the company and returning some time next year.
