Big Late Christmas Update: Dawn's Baby, Kamala, XFL, Piper, More

New Zealand based pro wrestling website NZPWI.co.nz recently conducted an interview with Sharmell. Sharmell talks about how her WWE run has gone so far, Booker T, Chris Benoit, the Nitro Girls, her style, the image of women in wrestling and more.

WWE.com did an article on Romeo, one half of the Heart Throbs tag team. Romeo talks about his long journey to WWE in the article. Some photos of Romeo in the independent wrestling circuit have also been posted.

Dawn Marie gave birth on Tuesday and her baby's name is Matthew. I believe the father is a New Jersey police officer.

Indie wrestler Mike Quackenbush has a message posted on his official website stating that it's likely that he's going to be retiring. Quackenbush is in a lot of pain and he's going to need back surgery soon. He needs two operations for his back and it's likely that he's going to have to call it a career after the surgeries.

James Laurinaitis, son of Road Warrior Animal, will have his first college football start for Ohio State University at the Fiesta Bowl on 1/2/06.

WWE will hold a supershow on Monday January 30 in Orlando (since the Smackdown wrestlers are heading to Asia for a tour that week).

Kamala recently opened up an official website at TheGiantKamala.com. Kamala released a music album in which you can order by the mail. Upon visiting the site, a song plays of Kamala singing a song. Another song he sings is entitled, "Ashley." There are 7 songs on his music album. Kamala's actually a pretty good singer. Unfortunately, the site is currently down until the end of the month as the site used up all it's bandwith for the month.

CNNSI.com made a crack on the XFL when they asked current NFL kicker and former XFL star Jose Cortez if he ever received his championship ring from winning the first and only XFL championship back in 2001. Cortez says he would have gotten the ring if he paid for it himself, which he didn't.

TSN airs a replay of the "Off The Record" episode from this past summer that had Roddy Piper, Bobby Heenan and Gene Okerlund on it. The replay airs at 1:00 AM tonight, or Saturday morning if you will.
