Michaels added that his WWE autobiography didn't get much publicity behind it, pointing to the fact that it was released just prior to the holidays and during a period where WWE was doing a lot of overseas touring. In regard to the current storyline with Vince McMahon, Michaels commented, "Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels were going at it long before Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin ever came on TV. So this was something that has just made its way to TV. I don't know if it was anyone's idea because it was something that goes on in our real lives on a fairly regular basis. I've always enjoyed bringing aspects of my real life to our show because for me I don't consider myself an actor. I'm not very good at that kind of stuff. If I don't do something that I'm not familiar with, it's not going to come off very well.'
