STAMFORD, Conn., Apr 26, 2006 — WWE advertising veteran David Cohn has been promoted to Vice President of Digital Media Sales for World Wrestling Entertainment(R), reporting to Tom Barreca, Executive Vice President, WWE Enterprises.
Cohn will manage ad sales, sponsor activity as well as agency and client relationships predominantly in the eastern half of the country, as well as a number of strategic national accounts in key partner categories. He will also oversee the WWE Digital Media sales team and support staff based on the East Coast, with a primary goal of monetizing WWE's growing portfolio of digital media properties, including WWE.com, its suite of other wrestling-related sites, and emerging sponsor-friendly platforms, such as mobile and video on-demand (VOD). Today, WWE.com and its lineup of sites draw more than 13.5 million unique visitors each month, doubling its returning online audience from just a year ago.
Cohn joined WWE in 2000, and has been instrumental in growing these increasingly vital businesses as they've expanded in importance across the advertising community. Prior to his promotion, he was Director of Integrated Advertising Sales, where he handled web and limited print sales responsibilities, along with WWE's third-party online ad representation worldwide. Before WWE, Cohn was an account executive for Fox Television Sales and started his career at Turner Broadcasting.
"David has been a key contributor to our growing annual digital success, and been a tremendous advocate for his clients and their relationships with WWE brands. He's also been a strong catalyst for us to widen the range and nature of how we accommodate partners and monetize our massive fan base. From rich media and our own broadband video network to fantasy, VOD and wireless, David has consistently been at the forefront in helping WWE leverage its content and audience to capture these larger opportunities," said Barreca.
Cohn and his team will continue to be based in WWE's New York Sales Office.
