ECW Gets Put To The Test This Weekend, More Notes

This weekend starts up a busy schedule for World Wrestling Entertainment. The SmackDown brand makes its way to the Dominican Republic and Panama, RAW will begin its "DX Reunion Tour", and ECW will have two house shows to lead them up to their first solo televised event.

ECW will begin on Saturday in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania at the Ice Garden. Scheduled to appear is Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Deamer, Sandman, and Paul Heyman. ECW will then invade Huntington, West Virginia at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. The following card has been announced:

- ECW Champion Rob Van Dam vs. Big Show.
- Test vs. Tommy Dreamer in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
- Sabu vs. C.W. Anderson.
- The Sandman vs. Justin Credible in a Dueling Canes match.
- Balls Mahoney vs. Mike Knoxx.
- Nunzio vs. Danny Doring.

ECW's first solo television event will be from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 4th. Confirmed to headline the event is Rob Van Dam vs. Edge in an "Extreme Rules" match for the WWE & ECW championships. SmackDown will be taped after RAW on Monday, due to the holiday. It will be interesting how many people will show up to see just ECW.
