Sabu was said to have been very apologetic to his peers in regards to what happened on Sunday night. Because of his mistake, he realized that he shed a bad light on the entire ECW locker room. Sabu had a reputation of being out of control and drug-riddled during the old ECW days. Also, Sabu offered to take the rap for Rob Van Dam. Sabu argued that it would be a shame for both of them to lose their jobs or be heavily punished, especially considering how well things were going for RVD prior to the incident. RVD refused to take Sabu’s offer. Then again, the police officer’s report would likely contradict any attempt to shift the blame from RVD to Sabu.
