TNA iMPACT! Rating, Bill Banks Note, Jarrett vs. Joe, More

The 8/24 edition of TNA iMPACT! drew a final and rather low 0.8 cable rating, down from last week's 0.9 rating. Last week saw the return of UFC programming as a lead-in, which many assumed would help TNA jump out of the 0.8 range the show has been averaging over the last few months. It should be noted that UFC's The Ultimate Fighter reality series that aired the same night before TNA drew a solid 1.6 cable rating. This is obviously not good news for TNA.

TNA's DVD Producer, Website Manager and former creative team member Bill Banks will be writing a book about his experience in professional wrestling with the WWF, WCW and now TNA. Banks wrote the following on his "MySpace" account about the upcoming book that will be released through ECW Press: "So, I've been in the wrestling business for ten years now – not as many years as some, but still a good amount of time. Throughout my time with WWF, WCW and now TNA, I've pretty much done it all and worked with everyone in the process and alot of people always ask me why I haven't written a book. Well, I've finally decided to write one for ECW Press, with availability in mid-2007 hopefully."

The upcoming TNA/UWF event in Richmond, Virginia on September 29 titled "Capital Punishment", which is slated to be the biggest TNA House Show of the year, will now feature Jeff Jarrett defending the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Samoa Joe. Already announced for the big event is Earl Hebner vs. Brian Hebner in a "Hair vs. Hair" Match and a talent lineup that will feature AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, The James Gang, Rhino, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, LAX (Konnan, Homicide & Hernandez), Abyss, Sonjay Dutt, Eric Young and Christy Hemme.
