Big Late Tuesday Update: Women's Title, Lawler's Mom, Cryme Tyme
In an article on WWE.com, the RAW Divas shared their thoughts on what becoming the next WWE Women's Champion would mean to them. The article features comments from seven of the eight participants of the tournament. The Divas participating in the tournament include Lita, Candice Michelle, Mickie James, Victoria, Melina, Torrie Wilson, and Maria. What with seven of the eight names announced, that leaves one spot open. One would have to think that the final spot would go to Beth Phoenix, who is still listed on the RAW roster, unless they bring in someone from Smackdown. Phoenix has since recovered from her jaw injury back in June. She's been wrestling on a number OVW shows since early August.
Jerry Lawler's mother suffered a stroke last week. It was mentioned on Memphis TV this past week with best wishes to her. At the moment, she is back home, but needs major surgery to unblock an artery in her neck.
In a correction from a few weeks ago, JTG of Cryme Tyme's real name is actually Jason Paul, not Devon Driscoll. Driscoll is actually another OVW wrestler, who also happens to be Causcasion.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the first edition of "Friday Night Smackdown" on the new CW Network scored a 2.4 broadcast rating.
ECW ring announcer Justin Roberts is in the movie "The Guardian", in which he plays Randall's Assistant. The role of Ben Randall is played by Kevin Costner.
