As reported last night, World Wrestling Entertainment released Greg Gagne from his position as booker of Ohio Valley Wrestling (a position he also reportedly held with the Deep South Wrestling territory as well). According to new reports from The Wrestling Observer, the feeling internally within WWE was that Gagne's knowledge of the old AWA system was out of touch with modern wrestling. The likely candidate to replace Gagne is Mike Bucci (aka Nova/Simon Dean).

Chris Kanyon, who many have labeled as becoming very desperate for attention lately, was on an internet radio show in Canada recently where he claimed Bret Hart admitted to him that the Montreal Survivor Series incident in 1997 was a "work" and that he was involved in orchestrating the whole thing. Kanyon said Bret told him this in WCW.
WWE ratings in the UK for the week ending of September 3: Raw on Thursday drew 101,000 viewers (down 9%), Friday Night Smackdown had 112,000 viewers (up 93%), Saturday afternoon replay of Smackdown did 36,000 and a Saturday night replay did 50,000. ECW drew 37,000 viewers on a Sunday morning airing, while a Sunday night replay drew 36,000.
