More On The Releases On 2 WWE Talents
We previously noted that WWE released Deep South Wrestling talents Danny Inferno and Kevin Matthews. Inferno had been under WWE contract for almost two years, and according to sources, never found his niche. They had tried Inferno as a heel and as a babyface, and then as a heel again. He didn't get over at all as a babyface. He was not particularly athletic or charismatic.
The general feeling is that they simply didn't have anything for Matthews. They changed the way he worked, and he seemed to lose all his confidence. Matthews had been typically a heel on the independent circuit, but was pushed as a babyface in Deep South. They finally decided to pair him with Krissy Vaine as a heel, and then he tore a bicep and has been injured for the last few months. He was only a week away from being medically cleared when they let him go.
