Kurt Angle/TNA Negotiations Explained, Wrestlers Offended
The second part of Dixie Carter's interview has been posted on the official TNA website. In the interview, Carter talks about how the negotiations between her and Kurt Angle went down. Carter noted that she first spoke with Kurt Angle on Labor Day and that a contract was signed only a few days later. Carter also talks about Sting's reaction to meeting Kurt Angle for the first time at a restaurant a few days before his debut. Sting was the only wrestler clued in on the Angle signing. Sting later admitted he thought Vince Russo was going to be Carter's lunch surprise. Visit TNAWrestling.com for more.
A number of wrestlers were offended that they weren't let in on TNA's big PPV surprise, but once the secret was revealed on the video screen, they got over it pretty quickly and were excited about the potential, although some had mixed feelings due to their concern over Kurt Angle's health. "Most of us assumed it was a timeslot change," says one TNA wrestler. "So we weren't all that concerned during the show, figuring it wouldn't change our lives much. We were as surprised as anyone when that video aired."
A move to Monday nights may or may not be in the cards, although several top TNA officials believe that would be the key to generating the buzz necessary to reach the largest potential fanbase.
Sirelda's profile has been removed from the TNA roster page. Kevin Nash's profile still remains though.
