More Backstage Kurt Angle News From iMPACT! Tapings
As noted earlier, TNA iMPACT! this Thursday night will feature a sitdown interview with Kurt Angle. The interview, which was taped earlier in the day on Monday and not shown to the live crowd in Orlando at the TV tapings last night, was described as very intense and negative towards Vince McMahon.
When Angle arrived at the TV tapings yesterday in Orlando, he spent a lot of time socializing with the roster before and during the tapings. TNA's website posted footage of Angle's arrival to Universal Studios meeting with Terry Taylor, AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn, Rhino, Shane Douglas and others. It should be noted that while some TNA workers were worried about losing TV time due to Angle's arrival, there was said to have been a real sense of excitement and strong morale in the locker room at the tapings last night.
It should also be noted that attendance for the TV tapings was reportedly way up from the No Surrender PPV on September 24 and the TV tapings that followed it on September 25, showing that interest in Kurt Angle's TNA debut was a huge factor and helping TNA gain a stronger live audience. While TV and PPV events have always been free, attendance for TV tapings are usually up and down thanks to factors like the weather, traffic at Universal Studios and just how many diehard TNA fans will show up for every TV taping along with the monthly PPV events. Angle's appearance during the second taping to air on October 19 got by far the biggest reaction of the night and some in TNA described it as the best segment in the entire history of the company so far.
