More Details On Lead SmackDown Writer Leaving WWE

To update you on Alex Greenfield resigning his position as the lead writer of SmackDown and leaving WWE, it appears as if he gave notice two weeks ago that he would be leaving the company after October 1st. This will keep him from being forced to reimburse WWE for moving expenses that the company covered while relocating him to take the creative team position.

The decision was made last week that Michael Hayes would become the lead writer for SmackDown. Apparently Greenfield wanted to leave the company before Stephanie McMahon returned full-time responsibilities after being off on maternity leave as well as his apparent future in the movie business.

At any rate, Greenfield will be finished with WWE after this Wednesday.
