The Marine Update, Real Reason Creative Team Member Quit, More

According to Variety, the final box office number for week one of The Marine was $8,822,674. BoxOfficeMojo.com predicts that the film will rake in $3.7 million this weekend.

James "Jimmy Jam Garvin" Williams quit on Friday the 13th, thus meaning that his WWE tenure lasted all of five days. It was Garvin's call to leave. Garvin believed that he wouldn't be able spend as much time with his family as he wanted due to the job. Also, this move is a black eye for SmackDown head writer Michael Hayes because he pushed hard for WWE to sign his old friend from Dallas. Garvin signed what was believed to be a very good contract, not to mention a legends contract. Hayes has gotten heat from this because of the feeling that he gave the wrong guy his seal of approval – a friend getting a high paying job as opposed to someone who had still been following the business and its changes closely.

Next year's Great American Bash will be taking place in Washington D.C. at the Verizon Center.
