iMPACT! Note, More On PRIDE/WWE, More

Last week's 11/9 edition of TNA iMPACT! drew a final 0.8 cable rating with a 1.6 share. That is the same rating the show drew a week prior and is in the range the show has been averaging as of late. Also, we hope to get word on the rating TNA drew last night in its big two-hour primetime debut on Spike TV. The goal internally within TNA was to a least draw between a 1.1 and 1.3, so anything less could be considered a slight disappointment. TNAWrestlingNews.com has more on this story.

WWE.com announced today that WWE officials and members from the mixed martial arts group PRIDE had a meeting this morning at the WWE world headquarters located in Stamford, CT., to discuss the possibilities of doing business together in the future. PRIDE, which is based in Japan, held its first MMA event in the United States last month at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, NV., where over 11,000 people attended. The company is promoted by Dream Stage Entertainment and already has some sort of a working agreement with UFC.

From Devon Rightsell: I was watching Pardon the Interruption on ESPN on Thursday and it was brought to us by "SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006". And the announcer also called it by such name. It's nice to see they are trying to market last years game. On the show, Kornerheiser said "What's SmackDown?" and Wilbon said "SmackDown! baby!" Then at the end of the show, they did TV picks and Kornheiser said "I'm not watching any T.V. tonight. I'm going out and buying SmackDown! vs. Raw baby!" It was quite funny. It's unbelievable how someone on THQ's marketing team could miss this, what a joke.
