RAW Notes For Monday, SD! Rating, & More Notes
WWE chose five songs to be used in this Monday's 'Tribute to the Troops' show from Baghdad. Making a return from last year's show, Scott Stapp's 'The Great Divide' will be one the themes used along with his other song 'You Will Soar'. The three other songs are 'Feels Like Tonight' by Daughtry, 'Better Days' by Goo Goo Dolls and the popular 'Happy Xmas' by John Lennon.
The new deal with Portuguese mobile company Heylife that WWE signed a few days ago will enable them to offer fans exclusive content such as video clips, ring times, pictures and the popular SMS Alert system which is currently only available in the United States. WWE also signed a similar deal – although no details have been made public – with UK-based operator Orange.
Good news for fans in the UK. For the first time since the tradition started, the 'Tribute To The Troops' Monday Night RAW will be airing in the UK on Thursday 28th December on Sky Sports 3 starting at 9PM GMT. In the past few years the show never aired most probably due to political reasons. There's still a RAW scheduled on Christmas Day/early next morning on Sky Sports 3 as usual however this will either be a 'Best of' or just a repeat.
Thursday night's 12/22 edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew a 2.9 rating based on the fast nationals. That is way up from last week's 2.6 fast national rating and is above the usual levels the show has been drawing lately. That early rating took The CW Network to a 4th place finish overall among the networks. It should be noted that based on this rating, more people watched Smackdown Thursday night than any WWE television show in the U.S. since Monday Night Raw on November 27.
