Backstage Draft News: Nitro, Daivari & Major Brothers Trades

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

The Major Brothers were moved to ECW because Vince McMahon changed his mind again on bringing ECW tag team titles to the brand. He now thinks there are too many titles in the company and is against adding any new ones. With no tag titles, there wasn't much point in keeping The Majors in ECW. Whether they replace the babyface spot left by Londrick remains to be seen because they aren't close to their level. They should be getting a chance at least because there is no one else to fill it.

WWE management has high hopes for Johnny Nitro. They think he has big-time potential in regards to being a major star. In the eyes of management, he was considered to be the biggest switch in the WWE Supplemental Draft. The word backstage is that Johnny Nitro was moved to ECW to separate him from real life girlfriend Melina because they believe that she is major distraction towards his growth as a performer due to her bad social behavior and reputation. He is a nice guy that gets along with everyone and management thinks he deserves a push and thus they are giving him a chance. Furthermore, several people felt he was associated with MNM too much. He will now be allowed to stand on his own and concentrate on bringing his work to the next level. And as noted before, ECW is now mainly seen as a developmental place to make stars, and when they get over enough, be moved to Raw or SmackDown.
