Notes On Ray Lewis/TNA, WWE Video Games, & More
XtremeFalls43 sent this in: ESPN's First Take talked about Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens going into Wrestling. They mentioned how he was preparing to Wrestle at TNA Slammiversary but couldn't due to Football commitments. They did mention the Pay Per View and how Frank Wycheck took his place. They also mentioned the other player at ringside with Jerry Lynn and Frank Wycheck. They didn't show footage of the match and didn't seem to take it that serious. They also mentioned Kevin Greene, Ron Simmons, and The Rock as Former football players who stepped into the ring.
Bobby Strouss sent this in: WWE's SvR Franchise has an article on SvR 08 in the reviews section of July's Game Informer Magazine. It talks about the new features, including WWE 24/7 mode, and the new Struggle Submission System. It also talks about the WWE Superstars looking more like their on screen counterparts, thanks to a new animation upgrade, and the new superstar fighting strategies. According to GameStop, WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008: ECW Invasion will be released on November 13 (Eddie Guerrero's death 2 year anniversary) on PS2 ($49.99), PS3 ($59.99), PSP ($39.99), Wii ($49.99), DS ($29.99), and XBOX 360 ($59.99).
Jeff Lobsterman Costa sent this in: WWE has hired this company MarkMonitor to investigate the internet for websites etc. for use and illegal use of the AWA and other trademarked properties of WWE Inc. This company will contact anyone using a logo or any other registered Property (especially the AWA Logo now) off WWE and report it to WWE Legal staff where it is reviewed and contacts are made regarding litigation. This is not to be taken lightly by anyone and is prompted by the $1.5 million lawsuit against Dale Gagner and his alleged misuse of the AWA Logo and Properties. Please include this link for all to check out as web sites and Indy promotions WILL BE under legal scrutiny and possibly Litigation. I have a personal experience with this company. Please do not list me as the reporter for this Adam. Trust me. It is a fact as my friends game co. (DOWNEY GAMES) who sells my wrestling game that has an AWA set was contacted and hit with litigation threats from WWE legal now and they want to settle for $5000.00 on a home brewed game that sold maybe a handful of AWA sets and we pulled the game off the market. You will be doing a HUGE service to the wrestling community by posting this. Funny the name is MARK Monitor!! eh! But it's a Pretty big deal. They are all over Ebay for a lot of companies and they are all over the AWA thing.
