Off-Air Report Of WWE Vengeance

Thanks to Mark C for sending this in:

Vengeance was packed to the roof sold out, with exception to a few seats around the camera. My friend and I sat five rows from the ring on the opposite side of the camera and were on TV the whole night.

Dark Match: Super Crazy def. Carlito. Good match to get the crowd going. Plenty of Carlito fans but Super Crazy was WAY over. Huge pop.

Huge pop for the Hardys. A few fans in front of us were chanting for Cade and Murdoch, but the crowd booed heavily when they won.

Chavo vs. Jimmy Wang Yang was pretty boring. People seemed to be just talking and not much cheering.

When Justin Roberts told us that Benoit was being replaced by Nitro, we were all wondering what was going on. The "personal reasons" statement was not given to the live crowd. We were all surprised when Nitro got the win and there were heavy boos.

Umaga got a huge pop and was way over. Fans were cheering for him like crazy. My section started an Umaga chant and I swear he looked at us and cracked a smile for a split second. Don't know if it came across on screen, but there were huge "One more time" chants for the Samoan Spike.

Deuce n Domino vs Sgt Slaughter and Superfly surprised me, but it was funny because not too many people knew that Deuce is Superfly's son. My friend and I and this guy in front of us started yelling "Hey Cherry" and started a Cherry chant and Deuce looked at us and yelled "Hey Shut Up that's my girlfriend!" Hahaha.

Edge vs. Batista match was a great match. It seemed like all the little kids were going for Batista while all the adults were cheering for Edge. My section started an "Edge is Better" chant and Edge yelled "Shut the Hell Up I don't need your freakin help!" Solid match.

We were all tired by the end of the Edge/Batista match that when the women's match started, we just kinda sat there and rested. Next thing I know, Miss Go Daddy is new Women's Champ. Caught me off guard.

John Cena was booed every time he was shown on the screen. But when he came out of the WWE Championship, the crowd popped pretty loud. I just don't get it. I guess the kids cheers drown out the adults boos. WWE Championship was a great match. Lots of spots with the five wrestlers. When Orton RKO'd Cena off the Five Knuckle Shuffle, that was probably one of the biggest pops of the night. The match ended way to quickly thought. Should have been much longer. (And they should have had Orton win – I hate Cena).

Overall a great show. I attended both the Royal Rumble this year and now Vengeance and I have to say by far Vengeance was a better production. Better matches, better set, better pyro.
