Benoit's Doctor Possibly Tried Tampering With Evidence
The Atlanta Journal Constitution has a new article up on Monday's indictment of Dr. Phil Astin. New details reveal that when his office was raided this past Wednesday, Astin had Chris Benoit's medical file in his hands. This led investigators to believe that he was in the process of tampering with Benoit's records, possibly to get rid of any incriminating information.
From the article:
"Assistant U.S. Attorney John Horn said that when agents raided the doctor's office on Wednesday, Astin was carrying Benoit's medical file and may have been trying to tamper with evidence."
Dr. Astin's attorney, Manny Arora said that the doctor had the file because he thought the investigators would want it. He asked that Astin be released on his own recognizance.
