Lots Of Benoit Tragedy Updates Inside, More

Fox Channel 5 in Atlanta is reporting that investigators are becoming quite frustrated by Internet and conspiracy theories regarding the Benoit tragedy. Investigators told Fox that there is quote "no truth" to a story making the rounds that Nancy Benoit left a note in a safety deposit box stating that if something had happened to her, it was because of Chris. The report did confirm a safety deposit box did exist, but it consisted of nothing but typical documents and contained no personal writings. The same story also confirmed that Nancy Benoit's parents have now returned to Daytona Beach, Florida to prepare for the funerals of Nancy and Daniel on July 14.

Fox 5 in Atlanta is also reporting that the DEA is currently looking into the death of former ECW & WCW Tag Team Champion Mike "Johnny Grune" Durham as part of their current investigation against Dr. Phil Astin. For those who may remember, Durham passed away in February of 2006 at 40 years old. According to Fox 5, Astin had reportedly written a prescription for 120 tablets of Soma (muscle relaxer) to Durham the day before he died. Durham was found dead with an empty prescription bottle. While an autopsy report listed Durham's passing as a result of coronary artery blockage and morbid obesity, a medical examiner did find Soma and Hydrocodone (painkiller) in his system. Says the medical examiner, "The combined effect of these drugs would have likely resulted in toxicity and probably contributed to the death, although the drug toxicity would not be expected to have been fatal by itself in the absence of heart disease."

Thaking1212 sent this in: I was listening to sports radio 950 KJR in Seattle on Tuesday morning and I heard an interview with Eric Bischoff where he talks about the whole Benoit (situation).

"Big Story with John Gibson" on Fox News this week were discussing the famous "list" of wrestler deaths that have been circulating around in the wake of the Chris Benoit tragedy. According to a recap of the show, there was a statement from WWE's PR department stating that WWE was in the process of going over the list and would be issuing an official response to it in the near future.

WWE is indeed gathering data right now to respond to the numbers being thrown out by the media in the last two weeks following the Benoit tragedy.

Speaking of Fox News, TNA's Kevin Nash made an appearance on "Hannity & Colmes" this past Thursday night regarding his past steroid use and "roid rage." Nash was bullied by the stand-in host for Sean Hannity about steroids and it's a pretty interesting watch.
