SummerSlam Notes, ECW Rating, The Rock, VKM Vs. WWE, More

WWE are offering fans several ways to win a trip to this year's SummerSlam event, including sweepstakes from Opie & Anthony and Spencer's Gift. For details are available at www.wwe.com/inside/biggestpartyofsummer.

This week's edition of ECW on Sci Fi drew a 1.3 cable rating.

The sci-fi film "Southland Tales" featuring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, also starring Sarah Michelle-Gellar and Kevin Smith, is scheduled to be released nationally on November 9.

WWE.com has delayed their subsite for this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view since the decision was made to drop the Jackass angle. All day Monday the web site featured the promotional poster with Umaga and the Jackass crew on the Worldwide and Canada page. Today, the poster has been removed from the Worldwide page and a black and white SummerSlam graphic has been put in place on the Canada page. Expect WWE to release a new promotional poster soon.

In addition to WWE opposing the "VKM" trademark issued by TNA, they are now opposing them trying to register "'Voodoo Kin Mafia." They are also opposing ESPN's registration of "Judgment Day," which is used for their college football programs.
