ECW Profiting?, Another Congressman Wants WWE Docs., More
WWE announced today in their second quarter earnings report that they made $3.1 million more from television rights. This is directly attributed to the airing of ECW on Sci-Fi, which would equate to over $10 million a year.
According to a report by the New York Daily News, a second congressional committee has contacted WWE and has requested documents about the company's steroid-testing policy.
The information was requested via a letter sent to Vince McMahon by Rep. Bobby Rush, chairman of the House Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee, and Rep. Cliff Sterns, the panel's ranking Republican.
WWE spokesperson Gary Davis confirmed to the New York Daily News that the company has received the request. "We are reviewing it and will respond accordingly." Davis told the publication.
