We will have live coverage and match by match results for the PPV right here on WrestlingInc.com. Make sure to be here Sunday evening at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST, when coverage begins. Here's a look at the card:
Divas Battle Royal – This match was announced this past Monday night with the winner of this match will get a future title shot against Candice Michelle. With Mickie James being teased for a heel turn this past Monday night, I would pick her as the favorite to win this match. Prediction: Mickie James.
Umaga vs. Carlito vs. Mr. Kennedy – Umaga and Carlito were originally scheduled for different matches for the PPV, as the original plan was for Umaga to face the crew of Jackass and Carlito was supposed to face Bobby Lashley. After the Jackass crew decided not to go through with the angle, Umaga was scheduled to face Jeff Hardy. However, with Lashley's shoulder requiring surgery and Jeff Hardy being suspended, those matches were dropped, Umaga was turned face and this match was created. This one is a toss up, as beating Umaga right now would cool Umaga's face turn, however Kennedy losing would also cool Kennedy's heel push. Since Kennedy is higher on the food chain as a future headliner, I'm going with Kennedy. Prediction: Mr. Kennedy.
Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero – Mysterio's return should have probably been saved for another PPV since it has been pushed way less than Triple H's return. However, with the Undertaker returning next month, it was done here. Logical booking dictates that Mysterio should go over here. Prediction: Mysterio.
ECW Champion John Morrison vs. CM Punk – We've seen these guys wrestle each other in some form pretty much every other week for the last 2 months so it would be great if this was the end of the feud. Punk has been on the short end of the stick for the majority of the feud and Morrison hasn't shown much as ECW Champion, so I'm going to pick Punk going over. Prediction: CM Punk.
World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali vs. Batista – WWE is really behind pushing The Great Khali as a monster right now. However, there isn't really anyone for him to feud with after Batista (The Undertaker returns next month but will be feuding with Mark Henry). Then again, there isn't really anyone for Batista to feud with either. Vince McMahon was pretty adamant about Batista not holding the title in the near future several months ago, so I'm going to go with Khali. Prediction: The Great Khali.
Triple H vs. King Booker – These two first headlined a pay per view at WrestleMania XIX in 2003, with Triple H going over. The angle started with Triple H making racist remarks to Booker T and was designed with the idea of Booker winning the title at WrestleMania. However, with Brock Lesnar defeating Kurt Angle in the other main event of WrestleMania XIX, the decision was made to have Triple H retain as having two world title changes would dilute the impact of both title changes. Since Angle was going to be out for awhile, he had to lose to Lesnar so the racist angle was quickly dropped and Booker did the job. With this match, there isn't any behind the scenes drama as it's pretty clear that Triple H will prevail in this match. Prediction: Triple H.
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton – The plan for several month has been for Orton to beat Cena and feud with Triple H for the WWE Championship. However, that doesn't mean that it will happen yet as this could just be the first step for a several month feud. However, I still think that if that's the direction they're headed, then it's best for Orton to win the title now and have Cena chase for a few months before Orton feuds with Triple H. Prediction: Randy Orton.
With only seven matches announced, I would expect one or two more matches to be added by Sunday. Once again, we will have live coverage and match by match results for the PPV right here on WrestlingInc.com. so make sure to be here Sunday evening at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST, when coverage begins.
