JR Comments On Jerry Lawler, Smackdown, More
Jim Ross has updated his blog at www.jrsbarbq.com today, in this edition he talks about the issue between Jerry "The King" Lawler and Sal Corrente, he also talks about how the Smackdown brand will be strengthened once The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio Returns. Here are a few things he had to say:
On The Smackdown Brand
Thanks for writing us from Ireland and I think the Smackdown roster will obviously be strengthened when the Undertaker returns, which will be relatively soon. Rey Mysterio, too, will greatly enhance the Smackdown roster upon his return, which is now. Plus and frankly, other young Smackdown talent need to step up and seize the opportunity to turn heads. Same goes for veterans who may be in their "comfort zone".
On Jerry Lawler/Sal Corrente Issue
I don't know enough info on the Jerry Lawler-Sal Corrente "issue" to comment on it and actually don't care to even if I did. I don't know how much of what I have read is fact or fiction and Jerry has not talked to me about it and I have not asked. It's really none of my business. Now if you want to talk about the Cleveland Indians, The King has kept me in the loop on them.
WWE Mentioning TNA?
I see no common sense reason for the WWE to mention TNA on WWE airwaves, nor do I feel that it provides TNA any advantage whatsoever when they mention WWE on their programming. Does it sell tickets or PPVs? Hell, no. That "controversial" ship sailed when the Monday Night Wars ended and everyone is much better off now devoting their air time to promoting their own product.
