Next Weeks Huge RAW, WWE Stars Working Indy Events
WWE's return to Madison Square Garden will not only feature a live RAW but also the taping for Saturday Night's Main Event, which will be broadcast on NBC on Saturday August 18th. Tapings for SNME will kick off the live activities followed by a live RAW. Superstars from Smackdown! and ECW will also be present for the SNME tapings. The show kicks off at 6:45PM. It is believed that Triple H will be appearing that night as well most likely during RAW, the same location that he made his return in January of 2002 after spending the major part of 2001 injured with the same type of injury on his other leg. That night, a bulkier Triple H got a monster pop that rocked the roof of Madison Square Garden. Tickets are still available for the show and you can get them through Ticketmaster. com.
Four contracted WWE personalities will be appearing at an independent wrestling event called UWF Capital Punishment II on Friday September 21st at the Alltel Pavilion at the Stuart C. Siegel Center on the campus of VCU in Richmond, VA. These are Sgt Slaughter, Ron Simmons, John 'Bradshaw' Layfield and Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. WWE employees who are not contracted to wrestle are usually given the option to work independent shows as long as it's with the company's approval. Several TNA wrestlers will also be part of the event. (thanks to Colin Vassallo)
From M.H.: I just wanted to correct something I saw in your smackdown spoilers a fan sent in.....Mark Henry defeated Cleveland All Pro and Ohio Indy wrestler Sterling James Keenan, not "scott somebody" as was previously noted. Also, the man that accepted the Masterlock challenge and said he had just gotten out of prison was none other than Cleveland All Pro Wrestling Heavyweight champion Jason Bane who defeated the Blue Meanie on Sunday for the title. Both can be found on myspace..
