TNA's Booking Process Explained

Source: PWTorch Hotline

TNA's booking process varies due to several factors, such as Jeff Jarrett's differing involvement, Vince Russo's influence and Dixie Carters input, but the following is generally how TNA books a show and why some experts think it leads to flaws and over booked crammed events.

The booking team changes quite often but in any given year can include Jeff Jarrett, Dutch Mantel, Vince Russo, Terry Taylor, Mike Tenay and Dixie Carter. Each one of these is said to have their own group of favorite wrestlers which they unofficially come up with ideas for (E.g. Russo for Dustin Rhodes.)

Once a week they all meet up and discuss their ideas and the ideas with the majority vote are put on to paper. Dixie Carter came up with the majority rule. According to Wade Keller there are often trade offs. "I'll vote for yours if you vote for mine," type of deal and this can lead to some questionable storylines or a crammed show.

Vince Russo, who I have downplayed for a while is confirmed to have little influence most of the time and he is the one that takes the ideas and fits them in to the physical script.

This does show that not every bad decision is Vince Russo's idea.
