Dixie Carter Promises Longer Matches, 2 Hour Timeslot, More

The September 14th edition of TNA's daily Internet video show "TNA Today" featured an exclusive interview with TNA President Dixie Carter. Dixie Carter is a regular backstage at TNA events but she rarely appears in front of the camera, so this was interesting show.

They started off the interview segment with a pretty remarkable announcement: TNA Today was the #1 Most Viewed Video of the Day on YouTube.com 13 times in August 2007. Each day's show is viewed approximately 80,000 times, making it one of the top viewed video shows on the Internet. Kudos to TNA on that accomplishment.

Jeremy Borash asked Dixie about TNA's major announcement – that iMPACT! is expanding to 2 hours on October 4th. Dixie talked about the lengthy negotiations with SpikeTV. She said it was very exciting to finally let the TNA office, talent and fans in on the news.

They talked about the constant growth and progression of TNA. 2007 was a huge year for TNA and 2008 will be no different. The new 2-hour timeslot will allow for more in-ring action and gives them a chance to help further develop the characters and personalities of their deep roster. Dixie promised more in-ring action and longer matches.

Dixie and JB talked about Bound For Glory and how it's going to be the biggest TNA PPV ever.

They talked about the upcoming TNA video game that's being developed by Midway Games. Midway promised TNA they will have the "best fighting game ever". They said they put the TNA game side-by-side with their competitor's game and were amazed at the difference. Considering TNA's video game is for "next generation" video game systems (PS3, X360, Wii) and WWE's most recent game is for the previous generation (PS2/XBOX), I wouldn't exactly call that a reasonable comparison, but there's marketing at its finest.
