UFC Dream Fight Signed
MMAfightLine.com is reporting that Chuck Liddell (20-5) will finally face Wanderlei Silva (31-7-1) at UFC 79: Nemesis.
The oft rumored, highly anticipated match-up between the two MMA legends had been hinted for years and will finally occur on December 29 as the second billing, under the main event of Matt Serra vs. Matt Hughes at UFC 79: Nemesis.
The fight looked like it would break all MMA PPV records last year when Silva was the PRIDE middleweight champion and Liddell was the UFC light heavyweight champion. However, the luster has been taken off of the fight a little as both have dropped their respective belts, and Liddell lost his last fight to Keith Jardine last month.
Since then, Quinton Jackson (who defeated Liddell for the UFC light heavyweight belt) and Dan Henderson (who defeated Silva for the PRIDE middleweight title) unified their respective belts at at UFC 75, on September 7, 2007, with Jackson coming out the unified champion.
