Another Albany, NY Signature Pharmacy Arrest, Afa Jr./WWE Debut
– As noted earlier here on the site, the Elimination Chamber is being brought back for the No Way Out pay-per-view in February. The storyline heading into WrestleMania is that the winner of the Royal Rumble will get to decide the champion he wants to face at WrestleMania. Then, the unselected champion will have its brand's top wrestlers go into an the Elimination Chamber. The winner of that match will get the other title shot at WrestleMania.
– Afa Jr. makes his first appearance in a WWE ring on this week's edition of Heat. He wrestles "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. He wrestles under the name "Mai Tai Anoa'i". He is currently under developmental contract to WWE and works in their Florida territory. He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Afa. This edition of Heat also features Shelton Benjamin's last match on the Raw brand as he & Charlie Haas take on Cade & Murdoch. The other match is between Kendrick & London and The Highlanders.
– A Boca Raton, FL doctor associated with the Signature Pharmacy was arrested on Wednesday, November 14 as a part of the Albany, NY, D.A. investigation. His name is Dr. Gary Brandwein and he personally wrote at least a few prescriptions for steroids to Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Brian Adams. Police found Brandwein at the home of a former police officer they were coming to arrest, Anthony Forgione. Forgione was a Boca Raton officer who had been fired in 2003 for steroid use.
