Is Sting Set To Sign New TNA Contract?, Angle/MMA Talks, More

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

As posted last week, Sting has been telling people backstage at the iMPACT tapings that he plans on retiring at the end of this year. Sting and TNA are currently negotiating for a one year extension on his contract. Many within TNA aren't sure if Sting will resign or not. TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that Dixie Carter is said to be very high on Sting and wants him to stay with TNA. If Sting signs the new deal, he would make $500,000 per year and only have to work TV and PPV dates.

MMAScoops.com is reporting that the talks between Kurt Angle and the IFL are considered more serious than ever. The idea is for Angle to coach one of the teams for IFL's 2008 season. TNA is under the impression that if they allow Angle to coach, that the IFL would push Angle's involvement in TNA on it television shows.

TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that Judas Mesias returned to action last week in Mexico. However, he can hardly do a thing in the ring because he's too hurt. He fell off a ladder at AAA's Verano de Escandalo show last month. Mesias hasn't been mentioned on Impact since his last appearance. TNA President Dixie Carter recently stated that he's out "indefinitely."
