Lilian Garcia Talks About Her Time With WWE, Her Injury, More
– Orlando's Between the Ropes on 740 AM recently had an interview with WWE ring announcer and recording artist, Lilian Garcia. She talks about how she got started with the company, the dangers of sitting ringside, being injured by Charlie Haas and more.
- Garcia has been with WWE for 8 years now and how she got there was quite interesting. She said her agent called her and told her there was an audition for the WWE and she gave it a shot. At first she was skeptical because she always wanted to pursue a career in singing and a position with WWE would interfere with that. Her agent convinced her to go through the interview process and they called her back and was offered to try it out for 2-3 months and if she didn't like it she could leave so Garcia had nothing to lose. Scared and not knowing what she was getting into she decided to go through with it and immediately after her first ring announcing(August 99') she was hooked. 8 years later she is one of the most popular non-wrestling diva's in the company.
Lilian went on to say she likes to be involved with the storylines as long as there is no wrestling involved because she is not a trained wrestler.
As far injuries she has only had one. During one show Charlie Haas came running full force into the ring and bounced off the ropes as Lilian was getting out. She then went flying off the ring landing on her wrist tearing a ligament which she says is not fixed yet. Apparently Charlie Haas had no idea Garcia was even there and she went on to joke about it.
