Sting's Mystery Partner Update, Nick Hogan, & More
TNA GENESIS is this Sunday on Pay-Per-View. The main selling point for the event is that Sting has a mystery partner for his main event tag match against Kevin Nash and Kurt Angle. TNA has stated that Sting's partner is a former WWE and WCW Champion and has world-class skills in the ring and on the microphone. While TNA has kept the mystery partner's identity a secret backstage, the general feeling among the wrestlers is that Booker T will be there this Sunday. Booker T was released from WWE on October 16th. It is unknown whether his contract has a 30 day no-compete clause. If so, this would disqualify him from being there. Another possible name talked about backstage as being the mystery partner is the Big Show.
As if Nick Hogan getting dropped by his biggest racing sponsor KODAK last week wasn't enough. We reported here yesterday that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan's son Nick was arrested on charges of criminal recklessness related to his car wreck back in August. The story has received a ton of mainstream media coverage, with pictures of him being arrested and his mugshot appearing online and in newspapers. We can now confirm that Nick Hogan has been released from police custody after parents Hulk and Linda posted a $10,000 bond on Nick's behalf.
CNN aired a documentary on pro wrestling called "Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling" last night. It also replays at 8 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The WWE employees they interviewed for the documentary were Vince & Linda McMahon, CM Punk, and John Cena at his home with a sling on his arm. When asked if he had ever used steroids, Cena simply said, "I can't say that I have never taken them (steroids) and you can never prove that I have." Cena seemed to be implying that people are going to believe what they want to believe, no matter what he says on the subject of possible steroid use on his part.
Now that he's no longer under a developmental contract to WWE, "Teddy" Tedward Hart has relocated back to his native Canada from Florida. Hart received a huge ovation for his return to Jersey All Pro Wrestling at their tenth anniversary event two weeks ago.
