The recent writer's strike may be working in favor of the Ultimate Fighting Championship as sources say it is close to announcing a television deal with major broadcast network CBS. The writer's strike has caused headaches in Hollywood. With several shows not completed due to the strike, many networks are now looking into more reality-style television shows to keep their ratings afloat. According to Mediapost Publications, the UFC is in the final stages of a deal with CBS, and it may be announced as early as this week.
Josh Koscheck has one fight remaining on his 10 fight UFC contract. He will get that fight at UFC 82 in Columbus, Ohio joining good friend and training partner Jon Fitch. Opponents have been discussed, but no bout agreements have been signed as of yet.
Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight contender Alan 'The Talent' Belcher will look to make it three-straight victories when he steps into the cage to face tough veteran fighter Ricardo Almeida on Feb. 2 at UFC 81 in Las Vegas.
After four losses in his first four fights inside the Octagon Canadian middleweight Patrick Cote (11-4) will look to make it three in a row when he battles Drew McFedries (6-2) at UFC Fight Night 12 on January 23.
