Brock Lesnar Speaks On Marriage To Sable, Angle, HHH, WWE, UFC, More
The latest issue of Power Slam magazine out of the U.K. has an interview with Brock Lesnar. Here are some highlights from the interview:
Brock on leaving WWE to join the NFL:
Do you regret leaving WWE in March 2004 to take a crack at the NFL?
Absolutely not. It's the best thing I ever did.
You walked away from a prime spot and a $1 million-per-annum downside guarantee.
Yeah.
No regrets over that?
Not at all, no. By the time I was done and wanted to leave the company, you couldn't have paid me enough money to stick around. I wasn't having fun anymore... You live only once on this planet, and I would rather know the outcome of something than regret never trying it. My whole life, I've accepted different challenges and challenged myself in different ways. A lot of people don't do that. A lot of people don't take risks. A lot of people are comfortable living their lives that way. But I'm a risk-taker. At least I gave (football) a shot and I know.
I bet a lot of people in WWE were chuckling to themselves when you were cut from your developmental contract by the Minnesota Vikings in August 2004.
I'm sure there was. But I don't care. I'm living my own life: I'm not living anyone else's. If they're happy with what they're doing, that's fine with me.

Brock on UFC:
I understand that you signed a two-year contract with UFC in October. Can you tell us anything about it?
Why would I want to? That's my business and none of yours.
Long-term, you must have your eye on the UFC heavyweight title.
Absolutely. I want to become the champion.

Brock on wrestling Kurt Angle in an exhibition amateur wrestling match in 2002 and Kurt's MMA aspirations:
I understand that Kurt Angle challenged you to an amateur wrestling match shortly after your arrived in WWF/WWE. Is that true?
Yeah. I pinned him in 30 seconds and it was over.
You pinned him him? The story I heard was that he defeated you.
Well, I don't know where you're getting your information.
So you definitely beat Angle in that amateur wrestling match?
Yeah.
Kurt has talked endlessly about MMA since he left WWE in August 2006. But he hasn't actually done anything in the sport yet. Do you think he'll ever take a fight?
No. It's just a lot of talk. Kurt hasn't done any of the right things to make the transition. If all you're doing is talking, after a while, people don't really take you seriously anymore. As the old saying goes, actions speak louder than words.

Brock on why he didn't go back to WWE in 2005
So, you were never serious about going back to WWE?
(Vince and I) had some talks about it. But it was a one-sided conversation, and I wasn't comfortable about going back to work for him. So, I decided to continue to pursue the lawsuit.

Brock on his dealings with Triple H:
Triple H needlessly buried you in an interview on the September 2, 2002 Raw, just moments after he had been presented with the newly-created World Title by Eric Bischoff. This came one week after you, as Undisputed Champion, were signed exclusively to SmackDown in the storyline. On that September 2 Raw broadcast, Triple H, who was a heel, said: "Brock Lesnar knows he doesn't belong in the same ring with me. Brock Lesnar knows that he can't with me in this ring. As a matter of fact, Brock Lesnar doesn't even belong speaking my name. And the fact is, the second I beat The Undertaker to become the number one contender, Brock Lesnar knew his days as champion were over, so he took his belt and ran with his tail between his legs. As it turns out, 'The Next Big Thing' has no balls."
I don't know what you're talking about. That's how much attention I paid to Triple H (laughs)... I didn't even know that happened.
It did. You were a rising star at the time, and Triple H was the established star. His obnoxious speech did nothing to facilitate your growth.
Well, when you're (with) the boss' daughter, you can pretty much say what you want.
You had a few matches with Triple H on the road, but you never had a feud on TV.
I don't think he wanted to put me over — so that never happened.

Brock on his marriage to Sable:
Finally, what's the best story you've heard about yourself that isn't true.?
That me and Sable are divorced... We're married. In fact, we're having breakfast together right now.
When did you get married?
Erm... (Turns to Sable and asks:) when did we get married (laughs)?
You're going to be in big trouble.
