More On New Controversial WWE Announcer, Hogan, Flair, Kane, More
We reported here earlier this week that World Wrestling Entertainment has reached out to controversial (and beautiful) news anchor Alycia Lane. There are new details on this story. Lane was fired from her job at Philadelphia's CBS-3 TV earlier this month after allegedly hitting an undercover female police officer in New York City and referring to her as a "dyke". She has a court date for the incident set for later this year and has filed a lawsuit against the TV station for her dismissal. Lane's firing, which came after she was arrested for fighting with a New York City cop, was just the latest in a saga that has included a bikini photo scandal and an offer from Playboy. Lane's boyfriend, Philly DJ Chris Booker, confirmed on his show this week that Vince McMahon has offered her a job on camera for the WWE. No word yet on whether she will join WWE but it sure does seem like she'd fit in just fine.
The reason behind "The Bussey Bunch" reality series being cancelled on TLC was because the network felt the show no longer fit its demographic, which is targeted more towards females. The production company that put the show together, which provided a behind-the-scenes look at the PCW independent promotion, has reportedly been shopping the show around to other networks as 12 half-hour episodes have been edited and completed. The debut episodes for "The Bussey Bunch" last Tuesday drew a 0.25 and 0.26 airing at 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. Eastern. Replay episodes later that evening drew 0.22 and 0.15 ratings.
