Major Update On Rey Mysterio's Injury Inside Here, & More

As we reported late last week, Rey Mysterio suffered an injury to his right bicep muscle. The injury occurred during Wednesday's live event at Arena Santiago (Chile), where Mysterio teamed with Kane against Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins.

Clearly in pain, he gutted it out and finished the match, then was quickly examined by WWE athletic trainer Jason Crivello upon leaving the ring.

Mysterio flew back to the United States late Wednesday night. He met with world-renowned sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews to determine the extent of the injury. No word yet on how that went.

WWE.com reports that regardless of Dr. Andrews' findings, Mysterio has his heart set on competing tonight at No Way Out. As of this writing, he is still scheduled to compete. Instead of pulling him from the match completely, there has been talk of doing an angle tonight where Edge injures Mysterio to keep him out of action for the next several weeks.

Whether he returns in time for WrestleMania depends on Dr. Andrews' diagnosis. Hopefully he did not suffer a full tear. Last year the Undertaker suffered a biceps tear and was out of action for four months.
