Rey Mysterio's Injury, Vince/Congress, Big Show/Mayweather, More

Earlier this week, Congressman Bobby Rush of the Members of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce had some very harsh words for Vince McMahon for failing to appear at a hearing regarding drug use in professional sports. One of the reasons Rush went off on McMahon is that the Congressman had prepared a lot of tough questions for Vince and intended to spend a lot of time grilling the WWE Chairman. While Vince did have a legitimate excuse as to why he didn't attend (his trust lawyer, Jerry McDevitt, was unavailable to appear due to another case he is working on), there is some belief that Vince did not want to be grouped in with the other figureheads from the NFL, MLB and NBA. McMahon has done a lot over the years to distance himself from professional sports, including branding his product "sports entertainment.

Big Show appeared on Max Kellerman's radio show earlier today. The host put over WWE head honcho Vince McMahon, calling him a "modern day Shakespeare" and the best promoter of the last 30 years. Kellerman noted that he once interviewed for an XFL job with McMahon. Regarding his pay for WrestleMania, Big Show wouldn't say how much he was being paid. A person called in and said that after Floyd Mayweather beats him in their match at Mania, Show will go to TNA with all the other "WWE rejects." Big Show replied by saying TNA can't afford him.

Given Rey Mysterio's injury, WWE has updated this weekend's SmackDown/ECW house show card from Ft. Wayne, Indiana with the following matches:

* World Heavyweight Champion Edge & Big Show vs. Undertaker & Kane.
* U.S. Champion MVP vs. Finlay.
* ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk.
* John Morrison & The Miz vs. Jesse & Festus
